Typography

Fonts used for developing materials or communicating on behalf of Cooper should be clean and easily readable.

Guidelines for Choosing a Font

Choose:

  • Fonts that are uncomplicated and easy to read.
  • Fonts that are widely considered accessible, like Aptos, Arial, Calibri, Helvetica, Tahoma, Times New Roman, and Verdana.

Other Considerations

  • Ensure sufficient contrast between text and background.
  • Avoid colors that hinder the reader’s understanding.
  • Left-aligned text is easiest to read.
  • Limit the different styles of font used.
  • Use italics, bold, and underline selectively
  • Avoid using ALL CAPS, as it is harder to read.
  • Avoid background textures, colors, or graphics that make overlay text hard to read.

Font Sizes

Tiny fonts are difficult to read. Use font sizes that make it easier for the reader.
